Mafia 3: Here's the Fastest Way to Get a Silenced Gun

At the start of Mafia 3, the only way to keep quiet is with the combat knife. Hunting down mafia goons isn’t so easy when the cops are on your tail, so if you’re eager to start using firearms without all that noise, you can get a one of three silenced weapons pretty early in the campaign. You can also buy them even earlier — it’s easy to miss, so check out the quick tips below to get your hands on this valuable gear.

Stealth is an important part of the job when you’re a vigilante in a deeply segregated city during the tumultuous ’60ies. There are three silenced weapons you can unlock for free; the M1911 (Tommy Gun), Grease Gun, or a .22 Pistol. All have their advantages and disadvantages, but the pistol is your best choice for pure stealth action. Even when silenced, firing too many rounds into the night will get you caught quick.

How to Get Silenced Guns

There are two ways to get silenced weapons in Mafia 3 — you can purchase / collect them or unlock them as rewards from your underbosses. The silenced pistol can be found BEFORE beginning the rackets business.

  • After meeting with Cassandra for the first time, talk to the gun vendor in the van outside her shop. You’ll get a free silenced pistol.

If you takeover all 3 starting districts, you’ll get to choose who to give the first racket to. Depending on your choose, you’ll get one of three silenced guns.

  • Give Cassandra the first racket: Silenced Grease Gun reward.
  • Give Vito the first racket: Silenced M1911 (Tommy Gun) reward.
  • Give Burke the first racket: Silenced .22 Pistol reward.
