Here's what Dead Rising 4's four-player co-op looks like

Capcom has finally revealed what it's four-player co-op mode looks like in Dead Rising 4.

The good news: It looks fun. The bad: It's a separate mode from the campaign.

As revealed in the IGN video below, co-op missions are standalone stages set over the course of two in-game days. Players will have to complete a list of objectives in that time - such as retrieving a collection of go-karts - and then trigger a boss fight, defeat them, and make it back to the safe house.

Along the way they're given a scoring system rating their performance. Take out a lot of zombies and you'll rack up the points. Should you fall, a fellow player can revive you, but you'll suffer a point penalty along the way. The scoring system seeks to give a competitive edge to the otherwise cooperative mode.

Since the multiplayer is completely separate from the single-player story campaign, players will have unlocked different skills across the two modes. Thankfully, your skills will be persistent across your co-op characters.

Our Tom Phillips had a go with Dead Rising 4 back in August, where he found it enjoyable, albeit lacking in the sense of danger the earlier titles in the series instilled.

"Will Dead Rising 4 be fun? I think it probably will be," he said in his Dead Rising 4 preview. "But will it feel like a Dead Rising game? I'm less certain."

Dead Rising 4 will launch on 6th December for Xbox One and Windows 10.
