The Promethean rifle appears to have a name, and the Fuel Rod launcher makes a reappearance in Halo 4.
343 Industries has been running a very tight ship on their development of Halo 4, but leaks—especially those coming from outside testers of the multiplayer build—have been numerous and surprisingly informative of some of the game's as-yet-unrevealed features and content.
The latest batch of leaks are images purporting to be the Fuel Rod cannon in Halo 4 and the Promethean Sniper Rifle, which—if the leaker is to be believed—called the Binary Rifle.
Halo 4's Fuel Rod looks a lot like the one featured in Halo Reach, but comes with a load of neon blue lights and a black finish instead of the tan and gray color scheme of the one in Halo Reach.
The differences between the purported Fuel Rod in Halo 4 and the version seen in Halo Reach can be seen below.
It should be noted that like with all rumors, these should be taken with a grain of salt.
